I made my first website while sitting in my high school library’s closet-turned-computer room. That was in 1997. Within two years I was designing, building and running websites for myself as well as for clients. In the last decade I’ve designed or worked on an estimated fifty or more projects from the international (Guilford Pharmaceuticals, circa 2001) to the local (WTBU Radio, circa 2002) to the boutique (Tuscan Hills, circa 2004). My work has come to include advertising, branding, communications, graphic design and political design.
Not long after I emerged from the school’s library did I enter into politics working as a volunteer for Rep. Rush Holt’s (NJ-12) 1998 campaign. That expanded into the role of a Filed Manager in 2000 for New Jersey Sen. Bill Bradley’s presidential campaign. In 2002 I worked on Gov. Ed Rendell’s Inauguration.
Not one to take an election cycle off, I found myself in Los Angeles as an Assistant Director of Fund Raising for the DNC and Sen. John Kerry’s campaign in 2004. The next year I helped with some voter identification and GOTV work for Paul Hackett in Ohio’s 2005 special election before joining Bullseye Interactive Media in 2006 where I’ve worked for dozens of clients.
Bullseye Interactive was the perfect merger of my passion for design, skills in communication and love of the political. At Bullseye I’ve worked for and advised clients all over the country and in all manor of politics. My hard work and dedication paid off, as I was named a Partner in 2007.
Somewhere in there I graduated from Boston University with a degree in Communications, appeared in Time magazine, traveled the world and learned how to cook. Oh, and as every author tells you on the back flap of a shiny new hardcover: I live happily in Arlington, VA with four house plants, five herbs and two stalks of bamboo.
