The Palin


In Pittsburgh one can go to a number of local sandwich joints and order “The Roethlisberger,” which is a sandwich loaded with wholesome goodness like bacon, bbq sauce, ranch dressing, lettuce and tomato.

The Coolidge Corner Clubhouse (a former haunt of mine) in Boorkline, MA has “The Tim Wakefield,” which is really good ham and cheese sandwich.

So, it was this in mind, that over lunch today, we debated what would be in “The Sarah Palin” sandwich. The obvious answer was moose, but given Alaska’s relative location to DC, probably not the easiest thing to come by. Instead, we settled on a pulled pork sandwich with lots of tomato, but when it arrives on your plate, it’s a tuna fish sandwich.

Of course, you could only order by bowing down before the waiter and professing your deepest admiration for the sandwich.
